What is Cotton Candy?
At some point in our lives, we have had cotton candy that looks like a cloud or seen it around at least once. Cotton candy is known by many names all over the world like fairy floss and candy floss. The candy is made by heating and liquefying sugar, and spinning it around while the sugar rapidly cools and re-solidifies. The whole process is no less than a carnival performance, which is why it is most commonly found at carnivals, festivals, fairs, circuses, and games.
The History of Cotton Candy
Cotton candy was created first in 1897 when William Morrison, a dentist, along with a confectioner named John C. Wharton. They came up with a machine that would spin heated sugar through a screen which ended up creating cotton candy as we know it today.

Cotton candy machines have evolved greatly over time. In the 1900s they used to be huge with complex machinery. In the modern age, you can find cotton candy machines everywhere from a guy making it in front of you at a carnival to finding it pre-packaged at a game, or you can even buy a small cotton candy machine so you can make it in the comfort of your own home.
